Bansko: How Europe's Cheapest Big Ski Resort Actually Works

Every winter the same discovery spreads through ski forums from London to Rotterdam: there is a resort where a week costs what a weekend costs in the Alps, and the skiing is genuinely good. Bansko sits under the granite peaks of the Pirin range in southwestern Bulgaria, a UNESCO-listed national park above a town of cobbled lanes and smoking tavern chimneys.
